The Basics

Search for a Geographic Location

Where do you want users to engage with your campaign? You can draw a Discovery Zone any where in the world. Use the Search bar on the map to display the location for your fence. Type in some keywords like an address, Point-of-Interest (POI), business name or city. Then select the destination from the drop down menu.

Size

Targeted geographic locations, or Discovery Zones, can be as small as 20 square meters or as large as 200 square meters. Because the accuracy of GPS (Global Positioning) can vary, we recommend a minimum of 100 square meters.

Drawing Discovery Zones

Single Discovery Zones

With Hipalerts, you can draw either oval Discovery Zones or polygons.

To get started,

  • Click on the shape you would like to draw on the top right side of the map.

Oval Zone

  • Click on the oval icon in the Add Geofence tool
  • Click near the location on the map, and while holding down your mouse, drag it across the map until the oval zone reaches your desired size.

Polygon Zone

As we all know, a polygon can have many sides. So when drawing a polygon Zone, you will create one side at a time.

  • Click on the polygon icon in the Add Geofence tool
  • Click near the location on the map you want to draw the fence, and while holding down your mouse, create the first side by dragging it across the map to the desired length.
  • Click again, and draw the next side to the desired length. And so on, until you've created all sides.

Don't forget to close the loop on your polygon!
